A Marketing Idea for Zellers

Two weekends ago Amélie and I went to Brighton to visit my sister Sarah and my parents who were visiting. It's funny how once you have a kid, people are excited to see you because you act as a means of getting their neice/grandchild to them. I barely got eye contact from anyone until they had all kissed Amélie (actually, I'm pretty sure my Dad has said "hello" while Sarah and my Mum both attempted to snag Amélie from my clutches).

The weekend gave me an idea that I might send along to Zellers - have a "Bring your neice/grandaughter to Zellers Day". I can guarantee you that they would make a killing. The four of us walked throught the aisles and between my Mum and sister, Amélie was offered a number of presents - it didn't seem to matter what section we were in. She made out with a few new teethers from Gran and with "Wooly McWoolersons" from Aunty Sarah. Aunty Sarah insited that she had to buy it for her because "she's already chewed on it - we can't put it back". Amélie is quite fond of Wooly - she fell asleep nose to nose with him on the drive back to our house.

I think I am going to call it "Bogging" - I never thought of my last name as a verb before!

I was inspired to start my "Bog" by my dear friend Val. It looks like fun and if will also force me to keep up with the journal that I have started for Amélie. It's amazing how much you forget, even when the little person has been around for only 6 months.

I thought I'd open with a piture from the day she was born. At the time, she looked absolutely perfect and happy to us. Now when we look back at the pictures she looks a little beat up and a lot pissed off. The biggest thing that stands out is how tiny she was. She was 7 pounds 7 ounces and 20.5 inches when she was born. She is now almost 16 pounds and 26.5 inches. We love her and who she is becoming - she's happy, a little dramatic and a lot of fun!
A lot has happened since she was born. I'll try my best to catch people up!
